Humanity is in a constant rush to collect and connect pieces, attempting to create the picture of success—a picture of happiness, fortune, fame, freedom. A piece of love, a fragment of friendship, a shadow of opportunity, a sliver of laughter, a taste of culture—all connect to form an exquisite picture of life. Yet one vital, central piece is missing. The image is not complete.
Every individual soul has a yearning, an elemental void that longs to be filled. Humans are innately formed with the primal desire to be close to a Heavenly Father. Yet, they often misinterpret the desolate emptiness of the heart. They reach out to grasp meaningless, temporary handholds, only to find themselves falling deeper into despair. We were created to be connected. From the dawn of creation, we were designed to be one with the Creator. However, sin caused the drastic separation between man and Maker. A piece was removed from our puzzle. "So by sin, man lost his connection with God" (Christ's Object Lessons, pg. 165).
God is the vital piece to our puzzle, and He yearns for a connection with His children.
CONNECTED was written by the Fountainview Academy 11th grade English class. It is our prayer that as you study this daily devotional, you will desire a deeper connection with your Creator.
